Light it Up Gold Illinois was started in April of 2014 by family and friends of
Dylan Full, a child affected with cancer. Our goal is to help raise awareness of
childhood cancer throughout Illinois and we have already joined forces with
other groups around the world whose mission is the same – to LIGHT IT UP GOLD in
September! Monday, The month of September is childhood
cancer awareness month and gold is the official color of the cause. By lighting
up and spreading the word about what September means to us, it’s our chance to
spread the word and make a REAL difference to children with cancer in Illinois.
The long term goal of Light it Up Gold Illinois is ultimately, a world free of childhood cancer. In order to accomplish that, much has to be done! We need to mobilize the people and resources of Illinois to help drive more research and to address the challenges faced by the children and families affected by childhood cancers in our state.
